GEELONG SUPERCATS SPONSORSHIP

Former Geelong Supercat BigV Captain and Operations Manager of the Bellarine Peninsula Basketball Association Vicki King will join Basketball Geelong from January 15, 2018.

The addition of Vicki to the Basketball Geelong team will see current Competitions Manager Sarah Monck promoted to Operations Manager where she will work to maximize the opportunities created with the opening of AWA Alliance Bank Stadium. King is widely regarded as one of the best Competitions Managers in Victoria and together with the established team of Sarah Monck and Lukas Bentley will aim to continue the growth of domestic basketball in Geelong.

The mother of two young daughters, King will commence in a Part Time role that will see Sarah Monck retain management of Elite Teams and Lukas Bentley solely responsible for some elements of the Geelong Basketball League, i.e. Tribunal and Database.

“Our competitions team have done an amazing job over the last 3 years increasing the professionalism of the league, overseeing 30% growth in the number of games played and preparing for the move to our new stadium” Basketball Geelong CEO Dean Anglin said, “promoting Sarah and adding Vicki is only going to make us a better organisation and give us greater scope to provide more basketball opportunities to the residents of Geelong” he went on to say.

Vicki retired from playing for the Supercats after the team won the 2014 BigV Division One Women’s Championship and has been working with Bellarine for the nearly 10 years.
