The GBL has a new leader, with the Lara Giants taking the mantel of the leagues largest club.
With a total of 53 teams Lara are 2 ahead of second placed YMCA and 4 teams ahead of regular league leader Pivot City. YMCA has the league largest number of Junior teams, with 45, while Sharks is the GBL’s biggest senior club with 20 teams, almost double that of the other clubs.
In total 425 teams will compete in the Summer 2018 season, 7 more than this time last year. Comprising of 288 Junior GBL teams, 103 Senior GBL teams and 33 School League Teams (11 from Christian College Eagles). The league has also expended with South Geelong Kings joining the GBL for the first time.
